Biodiversity Awareness at the Flower Pot Cafe
After connecting with La Jolla Murals for a couple of months, I've completed my first project, one created for the Resurgence Mural by Chitra Ganesh on 7540 Fay Avenue.

This mural, with the goal of raising awareness on the threats of climate change to endangered/threatened species across the globe, sought to extend the educational component of its message. That's where I stepped in. The Flower Pot Cafe, resting under this vibrant mural, offers viewers access to a game that I designed.

I created a Find Me! activity encouraging cafe-goers to explore and interact with Resurgence. While examining features displayed in the mural, viewers will become familiar with the diverse, beautiful species critical to our environment. The five animals I chose to spotlight include the Black Footed Ferret, Catalina Fox, Pink Abalone, Sea Lavender, and Tri-Colored Blackbird. These species have fun facts attached on the activity sheet for extra learning.

I can't wait to see cafe-goers enjoy their drinks while getting active with a new item on the menu: the Resurgence biodiversity awareness activity!
