Shot Down
I finished Shot Down due to the shootings in Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay, those puncturing the Asian community amidst Lunar New Year. Gun violence harms all communities. One will never know when it is their last mark. Too many youth hurt, too many communities hurt---none of it is ok.
Dear Ms. Cory...
A collage in memory of our beloved Director of Dance Donna Cory
I never thought the day would come in which I would walk past the dance studio and no longer hear your joyful hello. You loved each of us like your own child, yet none of us had the chance to let you know how truly grateful we felt for your bright presence. Thank you for your vivid creativity, your undying support, and your unparalleled dedication to our dance program.

Along the Border
As a southern California resident, I hear constant news regarding the inhumanity along the U.S.-Mexico border. To educate myself, I watched films and read articles detailing the narratives of individuals affected by circumstances at the border. A clip from one film showed a girl reading: despite the cruel world around her, this girl felt the urge to learn. Using the contrast between a flashy book and bright red clothing against a dark background, I highlighted the spark of humanity inspired by these short moments for a young girl.
Salute
Salute encapsulates my narrative as an Asian American. I was guided by the question: what does it mean for me to salute the American flag? My experiences today are shaped by the places, people, and ideas that have represented my culture: this piece shows my recognition for those aspects of my identity.
Exploring Impossibility
The Impossible Series: How does the impossible become possible?
Often, the possible is defined by rigid boundaries such as numbers. Yet, people can shatter those conceptions. Adding just +.000001 can alter our perception of where our limits lie. Newspapers and clocks record time. Individuals can punch through boundaries set by previous ideas and enhance the capabilities of mankind. We can even warp the concept of time to rebel against tangible documentations of possibility.
